This dive site is located at the North coast of Santa Maria Island. Sometimes strong currents are present which together with the depth make this dive more suitable for divers with some experience. The descending is done by the anchor line to the top of the rock at 14m depth. There the common fauna of Azorean such as parrot fish, groupers, breams, rainbow wrasses, ornate wrasses, and damselfish, will be observed. The dive should continue along the wall at around 20m depth where looking in the intense blue the diver will see schools of almaco jacks and barracudas as well as big size dusky groupers near the wall. Sometimes the presence of schools of mantas and even dolphins make this dive an unforgettable moment. With luck, the presence in the blue of an oceanic with tip shark will be the cherry on the top of the cake.
