This wreck located in the South coast of S. Miguel Island was a cargo ship that sunk in January 1964 at a depth of 20m. Although there are more wrecks in the Island no one is as famous and dived as Dori, either because of the excellent dives that can be done there and also because of its proximity to the marina of Ponta Delgada. All the surrounding area of the wreck is sand. The stern part is the one more preserved. However, the entire dive is done in the outside because there is no “entrances” available to the compartments. Between the wreckage some ladders, line rolls, and structures can still be seen. When passing by the stern, the big propeller and spiral tube worms can be seen. Swimming between the wreckage big schools of breams and everywhere the common fauna of Azorean waters such as rainbow wrasses, ornate wrasses, damselfish, groupers, parrot fish, trigger fish, and even octopus along with wide-eyed flounders, mullets, lizard fish, and Guinean puffer fish in the surrounding sand areas. In the surrounding blue schools of sardines, mackerel, derbios, barracudas, white trevallys, and almaco jacks can be observed.
