The “Terceirense” wreck is located at the East coast of Graciosa Island just in front of Praia’s harbor. The cargo ship with more than 40 m sunk in 1968 when arriving at Graciosa Island with no casualties registered. A rock ripped the hull due to the bad weather conditions. It is an easy dive that normally doesn´t present currents. However, divers must be aware because the dive site is near a harbor. Some of the parts of the ship are still intact such as the stern and the propeller. The majority of the times the descending is accompanied by schools of almaco jacks. In the wreckage along with the Azorean fauna, morays, fork-beards, conger eels, and even comb groupers and dusky groupers can be seen. Swimming in the blue schools of almaco jacks, white trevallys and mackerel can be observed.
