This dive site is located in a vulcanic cone at the South coast of S. Jorge, a mile from Velas’s harbor. It is a sheltered area with weak currents indicated for less experienced divers as long as deeper areas are not considered. At the dept of 17m there is a wide cave with a sandy botom. In the entrance of the cave breams, parrot fish, groupers, and Guinean puffer are present. Narval schrimps covering the interior walls and cardinalfish swimming in the bottom can also be observed. Sometimes huge schools of white trevallys visit the cave. If you go deeper at around 30m schools of barracudas, almaco jacks and makerel as well as back coral can be observed.
